Creation ( Day One )

Starting off with Genesis 1:1, we see that it was God who created the havens and the earth. Not the big bang theory, spontaneous combustion, or some magical happening that evolved; it was God who created everything in the known Universe.
As we continue with the second verse in Genesis, we see that when God created the earth it had no form.
It was a formless void where darkness was over the surface of the deep.
Let’s look at what deep refers to in this verse:
Genesis 1:2 …the surfaceH6440 of the deepH8415
H8415
teh-home’, teh-home’
(Usually feminine) from H1949; an abyss (as a surging mass of water), especially the deep (the main sea or the subterranean water supply): – deep (place), depth.
From the Hebrew word we can see that, “the deep“, refers to a massive body of water. This mass of water according to verse two had no form and was covered in darkness.
Also notice that in verse two we see that Gods Spirit was moving over the surface of the water.
This is the first time in the Bible, right at the beginning, that the Holy Spirit is mentioned.
Verses 3-5
Next in verses 3 – 5 light was created, and God separated the light from the darkness and called the light day and the darkness night.
This was the first day.
A Thought
One thing that verse four reminds me of is how Jesus (the Light) saves us from the darkness ( sin ).
Only through the Light ( Jesus ) can we be saved from the darkness ( our sinful nature ).
Praise God for His mercy and the gift of salvation…
Is it any wonder with the world we live in?

Homosexuals Double Standards
by Mr. H
Every day as a society we seem to be slipping back faster and further into the era of Sodom and Gomorrah with the continual attack on marriage, morals and family values.
When I see articles such as these:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2009 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. [2]

“His speech was great,” recalled Unique Payne, 17, a senior who said she voted for Garcia. “I did it because I support the gay community,” she said.

Gov. Chris Gregoire has approved a measure that gives same-sex domestic partners all the rights and benefits that Washington state offers married couples.

Churches will be banned from turning down gay job applicants on the grounds of their sexuality under new anti-discrimination laws, a Government minister said.
