Islam is in trouble at the heart of its birthplace, Saudi Arabia, and consequently in other Muslim countries. Muslim leaders and media are desperately trying to regain control both internally and externally. Muslims are starting to openly and defiantly question; while the international image of Islam is being tarnished daily with every act of terror, hate speech and calls for jihad from the pulpits of mosques. The traditional open calls for violence and jihad Islam got away with for centuries is now under scrutiny especially after 9/11. Islam is now under the microscope. That is the quagmire of Muslims today. How can they continue teaching their basic religious jihad education but still save face and Islam’s reputation in a culture where image and honor is everything. What could be more boring, you might ask, then a press conference following the meeting between Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Qatar Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr al-Thani? Well, a little document like this is a gold mine of interesting stuff that either won’t be covered or won’t be understood in the mass media.

Qatar, though tiny, is a very interesting country. On one hand, it hosts al-Udayd air base which is vital for the U.S. presence in the Gulf. On the other hand, it hosts and owns al-Jazira television which incites anti-Americanism. To make matters worse, Qatar has been the Gulf Arab state closest to Iran, which hosted the anti-American and radical summit led by the Iran-Syria bloc.

So Qatar is hedging its bets rather well. In public, Hillary isn’t going to complain about this stuff. Did she do so in the private meeting? Perhaps, though the jollity of al-Thani, a member of the ruling family, seems to belie any tough words from the secretary of state. But this is going too far:

The planned bombing of Northwest Airlines Flight 252 was averted by a stroke of luck and the courage of a Dutchman.

But the lesson provided by Umar Abdulmutallab on Christmas Day has been lost to Obama Administration.

Yes, we now have increased security at our international airports – - a measure that has resulted in passengers waiting in line over four hours to board an airplane.

Yes, we have heightened attention to passports and visas from visitors to the U.S. – - not only from Iran and Iraq but also Ireland and Iceland.

Yes, we have raised concern over emerging hotbeds of radical Islam, including Yemen and Nigeria.

The Nigerian Muslim, now in a Michigan federal prison for attempting to blow up a Detroit-bound airliner on Christmas day, had his suicide mission personally blessed in Yemen by Anwar al-Aulaqi, an American-born imam who served as the spiritual leader of Dar al-Hijrah, a large mosque in Falls Church, Virginia.

An U.S. intelligence official, who is familiar with the FBI’s interrogation of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, informed The Washington Times that the bombing suspect has bragged of his jihad training in Yemen and has said that his mission to blow up the Northwest Airliner 253 was blessed by al-Aulaqi.

“It was Aulaqi who indoctrinated him,” the official said. “He was told, ‘You are going to be the tip of the spear of the Muslim nation.’ ”

Al-Aulaqi is also suspected of radicalizing the Major Malik Nadal Hassan, who stands accused of killing 13 soldiers at Fort Hood, Texas.

Under al-Aulaqi’s leadership, Dar al-Hijrah, a mosque built and sustained by Saudi Arabia, became a veritable magnet for militant Muslims. It attracted an alarming number of terrorist supporters, terrorist facilitators, terrorist fundraisers, terrorist co-conspirators, and actual terrorists, including at least two of the 9/11 hijackers who crashed the plane into the Pentagon. Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.), ranking member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, is charging the Obama administration with stalling to provide information to the leaders of the House and Senate and the congressional intelligence committees on the multiple murders committed by a radical Muslim Army officer at Fort Hood more than a month ago.

The congressional leaders, Mr. Hoekstra maintains, have received no detailed, substantive briefing on the event and what is known about its perpetrator.

“We’re going home next week, (and) they will have effectively made it through three months with giving no substantive briefings on Fort Hood,” the congressman says.

The position of President Obama, Mr. Hoekstra insists, violates the Constitution which holds that the administration must “ensure that the congressional intelligence committees are kept fully and currently informed of the intelligence activities of the United States.” Click here to read the entire article…

As the spotlight moves away from the Fort Hood massacre, one of America’s most openly radical Islamist organizations has taken to the murderer’s defense. As-Sabiqun, a Washington D.C.-based organization with branches in four other major American cities, released a flyer labeling shooter Nidal Malik Hasan as “victimized” and the “target of psychological warfare.” The handout also defended convicted terrorists and suspects.

As-Sabiqun has repeatedly predicted the demise of the United States and dreams of “the Islamic State of North America no later than 2050.” It has openly declared support for terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hizbullah, and even claimed it funded anti-American militants. With concerns growing over radical Islamist propaganda in the United States, As-Sabiqun is one of the leading organizations building a bridge between international Islamism and its developing American counterpart. Any commemoration in the Knesset (Israeli Parliament) of the anniversary of Rabbi Meir Kahane’s assassination would be harmful to the peace process, the American Embassy told The Jerusalem Post.

The American comments came after the Jerusalem Post obtained e-mails in which an embassy official told Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin’s office that any plans for such a ceremony was “something that Senator [George] Mitchell and his team are following with concern.”

The e-mails also implied that such a ceremony would be frowned upon by President Barack Obama who is attempting to strengthen the U.S. ties to Muslim nations.

The likelihood of such a ceremony taking place was also the subject of a flurry of internal embassy e-mails, in which US officials scrambled to find out where and when a commemoration of the assassinated far-right-wing rabbi would occur.
