President Remains Silent As Christians Suffer

U. S. Opts to Ignore Communist Persecutions

As President Barack Obama embarks on his first visit to China, leaders of the Chinese Christian churches are condemning his administration for its indifference to the increasing persecution of their flocks by the Communist overlords.

The latest example of that persecution came Sunday a church in Beijing was nailed shut since it failed to gain the approval of the state.

Worship in China is governed by the officially atheist Communist Party. Christians may only worship in state-approved churches.

Since such approved places of worship remain few in number, millions of Chinese Christians belong to unregistered churches and remain subject to imprisonment and official harassment.

Sunday’s closing of the Shouwang church, one of the largest underground churches in China, forced 800 members to hold worship services in a nearby park. The service didn’t last long since it was disrupted by the police. The flock finally made their way to a performance hall on the outskirts of the city.

District police referred questions regarding the shutting down of Christian churches to the Beijing public security bureau, where calls rang unanswered Sunday.

A Concerned Citizen Speaks Out

A few short hours ago I received this email from another concerned citizen.  No matter what part of the country we live in Islam will affect each and every one of us if we do not pull together as a community and inform everyone what is actually taking place in these mosque located throughout our nation.

Action Alert: Missile defense Program

My dear friends and fellow countrymen, we are in a precarious state of affairs with the threat of an attack by a known enemy – North Korea.

North Korea threatened military action Wednesday against U.S. and South Korean warships plying the waters near the Koreas’ disputed maritime border, raising the specter of a naval clash just days after the regime’s underground nuclear test. In Washington, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton warned that Pyongyang faced unspecified consequences because of its “provocative and belligerent” acts. ¹

On Tuesday, North Korea said it would use nuclear weapons in a “merciless offensive” if provoked _ its latest rhetoric apparently aimed at deterring any international punishment for its recent atomic test blast.

It appeared to be the first time that North Korea referred to its nuclear arsenal as “offensive” in nature. Pyongyang has long claimed that its nuclear weapons program is a deterrent and only for self-defense against what it calls U.S. attempts to invade it. ²

And even though our president, Mr. Obama, and his administration have been briefed by the US intelligence officials of the seriousness of threat made against the United States, Mr. Obama and his colleagues still desire to cut the funding of the very program that is designed to protect American citizen, “The Missile Defense Program”.

This program is extremely critical to the national security of this nation as it could save hundreds of thousands of lives if such an attack was ever made as North Korea has threatened.

…North Korea launched a Taepo-dong 2 missile on June 4th, which entered Japanese airspace. According to military analysts, Taepo-dong 2 missiles have the capability to reach Alaska, Hawaii, or the Western United States. Since that launch North Korea conducted an underground nuclear weapon test of a bomb the size of the bomb we dropped on Hiroshima. And just last Friday, Fox News reported that “U.S. intelligence officials have warned President Obama and other senior American officials that North Korea intends to respond to the looming passage of a U.N. Security Council resolution this week – condemning the communist country for its recent nuclear and ballistic missile tests – with another nuclear test.”

As the Obama administration proposes cutting missile defense spending – and thus additional missile defense deployment – Iran and North Korea are responding to President Obama’s various “olive branches” by moving full speed ahead with their nuclear programs.

The unbelievable news is that at this very critical moment for America’s national security, the Obama Administration and many in Congress appear intent to cut $1.4 billion from the very program that is designed to protect us! This is a crippling cut to this program, and with all the billions our government is throwing at one bailout after another, we shake our heads in disbelief at this shortsightedness. ³
