A NEW “HOPE AND CHANGE” IS COMING

We Did It Once – We Can Do It Again!

by Randy Wyles of specialopsandnews.com

On a cold, wet, blustery day in March 1775, Saint John’s Church in Richmond, Virginia was packed. The members of the somber gathering knew the matters before them carried far reaching and dire consequences. The Second Virginia Convention had convened to consider the undeniable set of circumstances that all pointed to one thing – war with Britain. To many, it appeared unavoidable. To others, it seemed unimaginable.

A good many felt that there was still a chance, a ray of hope – if England would only show some kind of concession. Then Patrick Henry stood and delivered an unfettered indictment of the Crown and Parliament in a speech spelling out the simple truths of what he called the “Illusions of Hope” – declaring, “I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!”

We’ve suffered under the Obama “illusions of hope” for more than a year now – “Hope and Change” – the battle cry of those misguided few who “knew” what America needed. Click here to read the entire article…

Executive Order Amended to Immunize INTERPOL In America – Is The ICC Next?

by Steve Schippert, Clyde Middleton of ThreatsWatch.org

Last Thursday, December 17, 2009, The White House released an Executive Order “Amending Executive Order 12425.” It grants INTERPOL (International Criminal Police Organization) a new level of full diplomatic immunity afforded to foreign embassies and select other “International Organizations” as set forth in the United States International Organizations Immunities Act of 1945.

By removing language from President Reagan’s 1983 Executive Order 12425, this international law enforcement body now operates – now operates – on American soil beyond the reach of our own top law enforcement arm, the FBI, and is immune from Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) requests. Oh did I mention Happy new year?

Happy New Year everyone!

by Jim Turner

Now that 2010 has finally reached us, so has the time for the wonderful U.S. census data gathering ploy. Luckily for us Americans this year will not only bring more honesty, I-I mean corruption from the occupants of the White House, but also the opportunity to feel firsthand the corruption stemming from the affiliates of Obama’s unknown appointed army of Census gathering workers.

Unknowns that were hired even though 36,000 of them had botched fingerprint checks and over 200 with possible violent criminal records. Click here to read the entire article…

Kerry and Iran equals Bad Choice

Sending Kerry to Iran? A Thoroughly Bad Idea

By Barry Rubin of Rubin Reports

The story of the United States and Iran regarding sanctions and pressures reminds me of Woody Allen’s joke in the film “Sleeper” after he awakes following 2000 years asleep: My analyst was a strict Freudian and if I’d been going four times a week all this time I’d be cured by now.

The proposal to send Senator John Kerry to Iran is one more signal that the Obama Administration seemingly will do anything to avoid, or at least postpone, increasing sanctions on Iran because of that country’s nuclear weapons’ drive. Such a move can only be taken by Tehran as further proof–in its eyes–of American cowardice. Obviously, this gambit would gain nothing.

In addition, the choice of Kerry is a very bad one. Despite his distinguished appearance and unearned reputation for international sophistication, Kerry is known in the Senate as one of its dumbest and least accomplished members. In 30 years, he has not initiated a single idea, piece of legislation, or even memorable speech.

And, of course, he would be eager to make some—almost any–deal for his own personal glory and reluctant to be really tough lest he, and the Obama Administration which he supports, would appear to be a failure.

This is a terrible choice and it sends a dangerous signal. Hopefully, Iran’s regime will reject it. Nowadays we are reduced to hoping that our enemies’ arrogance and intransigence will force democratic governments to get a backbone.

Time to Wake Up, Change Course, and Do It Right

by Barry Rubin of The Rubin Reports

It’s astonishing to watch people try to pretend or convince themselves that this U.S. government has the knowledge, ideas, and attitudes needed to deal with the vital Middle East issues facing by the United States. Maybe next year but not at present.

Don’t get me wrong. I’d be delighted to think, but foolish to pretend, otherwise. The best outcome of all would be if the Obama Administration itself took the blindfold off its eyes, pulled the stoppers out of its ears, and faced reality without flinching.

A number of friends and colleagues have been asking, in amazement, if they truly understand President Barack Obama’s plan for Afghanistan. Is he really saying what we think he’s saying? Yes, indeed. OBAMA SET TO SIGN $1.1 TRILLION OMNIBUS BILL

by Paul L. Williams

President Barack Obama is set to sign the $1.1 trillion omnibus spending package passed by the Senate over the weekend.

The package contains more than 5,224 earmarks, a White House spokesman said Monday, stressing that the number of earmarks had dropped from the previous year’s spending bill.

The spending bill is designed to keep the government running until the end of fiscal year 2010 on September 30.

Among the more controversial aspects, the bill would allow the District of Columbia government, which is mostly funded through federal subsidies, to pay for abortions. It also overturns a ban on needle exchanges and puts an end to the D.C. school voucher program.

OBAMA VIOLATES CONSTITUTION

PROTECTS MUSLIM MAJOR

by Paul L. Williams

Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.), ranking member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, is charging the Obama administration with stalling to provide information to the leaders of the House and Senate and the congressional intelligence committees on the multiple murders committed by a radical Muslim Army officer at Fort Hood more than a month ago.

The congressional leaders, Mr. Hoekstra maintains, have received no detailed, substantive briefing on the event and what is known about its perpetrator.

“We’re going home next week, (and) they will have effectively made it through three months with giving no substantive briefings on Fort Hood,” the congressman says.

The position of President Obama, Mr. Hoekstra insists, violates the Constitution which holds that the administration must “ensure that the congressional intelligence committees are kept fully and currently informed of the intelligence activities of the United States.” Click here to read the entire article…

Pew Gets Wrong the Amazing Results

by Barry Rubin of The Rubin Reports

According to the latest Pew poll, 51 percent of the American public say they sympathize more with the Israelis, while just 12% say they sympathize more with the Palestinians. (14 percent say neither; 19 percent have no opinion). That’s very impressive, right?

That means that two-thirds of Americans who have an opinion sympathize more with Israel.

What about all the academics who hate Israel, all the anti-Israel propaganda, the supposed sympathy for Palestinians as victims and underdogs? No apparent effect.

The poll also shows that among Democrats the number supporting Israel has remained the exact same (43 percent) over the last 16 years. So there’s been no decline due to a party or shift to the left within this camp. That’s important, too. Click here to read the entire article…

Speaking as Western leaders gathered in Kabul for Thursday’s swearing-in of President Hamid Karzai, US President Barack Obama said his forthcoming announcement about the war in Afghanistan will include his intent for a complete troop withdrawal in the immediate future.

“I am confident that when I announce my decision the American people will have a lot of clarity about what we are doing, how we are going to succeed… and most importantly what’s the endgame on this thing,” he told CNN.

“Unless you impose that kind of discipline it could end up leading to a multiyear occupation that won’t serve the interests of the United States,” the president said. Click here to read the entire article…
