I Love the World, Yet I’m a Christian

Over these last few weeks I have been hearing from far too many so-called Christians that it is acceptable to use modern day speech; speech that is laden with the world, speech that is vulgar and crude, speech one would not use in front of their grandmother, yet, speech they have no issues using in front of their co-workers, friends or strangers even though they proclaim to be followers of Jesus Christ.
The question I then ask is “what Bible are they reading?”, and more importantly “what God do they believe they are worshiping?”, for I can assure you it is not the God of the Bible.
If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
(James 1:26 NASB)
We who proclaim to be followers of Christ need to remember this one very important fact, God is holy. God is not one we should mock or test in any way, shape or form. Need we be reminded that each one of us who claim Christianity is commanded to be holy as Christ is holy?
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.”
(1 Peter 1:14-16 NASB)
If we embrace and practice vulgarity or worldly deeds continually without remorse, then we have desired the world and made ourselves an enemy of God.
You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
(James 4:4 NASB)
As followers of Christ Jesus, it is time to put away our childish ways and become men of God.
When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.
(1 Corinthians 13:11 NASB)
How much longer are we willing to test God, living our life to justify our needs rather than living each day according to His will, the will of God? Only those who do the will of the Father, who is in Heaven, will enter into the kingdom of heaven.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
(Matthew 7:21 NASB)
We have a choice to make, and by the actions we choose we define those choices. Are our choices bearing good or bad fruit?
“You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? “So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. “A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. “So then, you will know them by their fruits.
(Matthew 7:16-20 NASB)
It is time to stop playing these foolish games and start living as Christ has commanded us.
For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HIS MOUTH; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.
(1 Peter 2:21-25 NASB)
In Closing
We as a Christian nation need to have respect for the Lord God Almighty and need to stop living a lie, if we truly are a nation of Christians then we better start acting like ones. Even though we profess His name, we live as if He does not exist.
Jesus Christ gave His life for us, for our sins, and how do we as a society, as a Christian nation repay Him?
We repay Him by
- Mocking His holy name.
- Removing Him from our midst.
- Supporting the murder of the unborn.
- Endorsing sexual deviance.
- Crushing the sanctity of marriage.
- Condoning evil around every facet or our lives.
We spit in face of our Creator daily, and yet when we cry out due to the state of the nations around us, we wish Him to hear our prayers? ENOUGH all ready!
He who turns away his ear from listening to the law, Even his prayer is an abomination.
(Proverbs 28:9 NASB)
Jesus Christ is holy. He is the only begotten Son of God who is to be feared among men, held in honor, in reverence; not mocked by the many who claim themselves to be Christians while they stink of the world and its ways.
They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.
(Titus 1:16 NASB)
We can justify ourselves anyway we see fit, but we are not judged by men, we are judged by a holy righteous God, a just God, a God that abhors sin!
Friends, please, I beg you, stop judging yourself against others of the world, and start judging yourself against the Holy Scriptures – the Word of God.
It is time we grow up and start living our lives holy before Christ. It is time we start living our lives as Christians and get America back to its Christian roots. If we do not then I can assure this nation will be destroyed.
It is your call, I made up my mind, and it is time for you to make up yours.

You certainly hit a nerve in my heart, bro. I talk a good game but confess that I really need to work much harder on some personality traits and faults. I do a lot of praying, studying and sharing the Bible with others, etc., but I am shamed even when I say things under my breath while driving with the idiots on the high way. I have been seriously injured in a few auto, truck and cycle crashes and I vividly remember the intense PAIN.
Thank you for bringing these things to our attention.
God Bless your efforts.
Cordially,

Clearly it takes effort and struggle for the speech to be translated to actions. Indeed faith even though how we profess it will always be dead without actions. actions that are justifiable and that aren;t accdng to the pattern of this world but transformed actions through the Lord Jesus Christ!
let’s all be REAl Christians!
Blessings to you!
Nice blog. I see you’ve bought your own domain! Good move brother!
