Sky as Iron; ground as bronze

Traveling across the nation recently I looked out across the landscape, and from where I stood I saw farmlands that were scorched, depleted of minerals, land that was over worked without a chance to rest, and top soil that was like the dust of the dessert.
As I saw these scenes they reminded me of a passage in the scriptures where the Lord warns the nation who continues to disobey Him.
Leviticus 26:18-20 NIV “‘If after all this you will not listen to me, I will punish you for your sins seven times over.
Telling them that if they do not cease in their stubborn ways He will then make the ground useless, the skies barren of rain which is needed to produce the produce that is needed to sustain the people and the livestock living in the land.
Leviticus 26:19 NIV I will break down your stubborn pride and make the sky above you like iron and the ground beneath you like bronze.
The Lord then continues to warn them that because of their hardened hearts they will work for naught, and no matter what they do, their labor will be for noting, yielding nothing from the lands they till; all because they continue to refuse the Lord their God.
Leviticus 26:20 NIV Your strength will be spent in vain, because your soil will not yield its crops, nor will the trees of the land yield their fruit.
And if you continue to read this passage in Leviticus, you will see the tribulation grow worse the nation due to the hardening of their hearts towards God.
Yet, if that nation would cease in their evil ways and repent, turning back to God, God will not reject them. God will remember the covenant He made with them only if they repent.
Leviticus 26:40-45 NIV “‘But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their fathers—their treachery against me and their hostility toward me, (41) which made me hostile toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies—then when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they pay for their sin, (42) I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land. (43) For the land will be deserted by them and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them. They will pay for their sins because they rejected my laws and abhorred my decrees. (44) Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them or abhor them so as to destroy them completely, breaking my covenant with them. I am the LORD their God. (45) But for their sake I will remember the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought out of Egypt in the sight of the nations to be their God. I am the LORD.’”
Final Thoughts
As we look at the state of America today, we can see many similarities to the prideful stubbornness of the people of Israel to the people of this nation, the United States. We have gone beyond the imaginable as we openly and widely – without hesitation – refuse God. We tell Him every day that we do not want Him as part of our society.
If we as a nation continue down this treacherous path, we will be destroyed.
Just look at the state of our nation today, unemployment is on the rise, our freedoms are being stripped away, the church in this country is falling apart and chaos is on the rise.
Why do you think this is happening? The reason is because we have willing and carelessly turned away from God as a nation and REMOVED Him from society. We as a nation no longer seek His Holy name or His wisdom.
Until the day comes that we as a nation repent to the Lord God, and ask Him to forgive us of our evil ways, we will only see matters grow continually worse.
God is Holy, and we as a nation will be judged for the mockery we made of His name by the horrid action we have condoned. It is time for the people of this nation to wake up and get their hearts right with God.
Ten out of ten people die, it is a proven fact, and whether you believe it or not you will one day stand before Him and be judged. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, we all have an appointment with death, so what are you waiting for? Repent, believe and follow His ways and live, or refuse, deny and follow your own ways and be destroyed.
Luke 13:2-3 NIV Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? (3) I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
The choice is yours, but please make your choice wisely, for there is no second chance once you are no longer walking on this earth.

I believe that you and I are on the same page. Matt. 6:9 says, ‘Let your Kingdom come… Let YOUR will be done.’ Many folks are actually praying for their own eternal destruction, unwittingly, so-called Christians who attend church regularly. Prophecy says that God WILL really destroy wicked unbelievers and the world some day when He determines that all the just followers of Jesus Christ are ‘in the fold.’ That’s the long and the short of it. Repent– the end is near.
